SUMMARY
The Logistics Coordinator ensures that all distribution, fleet programs and divisional initiatives are executed as designed by providing leadership and coordination of activities. This includes the direct responsibility for efficient operation of all package and bulk routes to increase sales and reduce operation costs at the plant level.
RESPONSIBILITIES BY COMPETENCY:
Business Results Orientation
*Oversees logistics of all outbound freight from plant location and ensures compliance of company shipments with DOT mandated Hour of Service (HOS) and weight restrictions
*Ensures paperwork related to dispatching and delivery functions is completed timely and accurately.
*Optimizes productivity and profitability of company delivery routes and vehicles.
*Evaluate multiple selection criteria, such as location, products, drivers’ hour limitations, available vehicle space, and other variables to ensure daily execution of accurate, timely, and profitable delivery routes.
*Analyzes key performance indicators, such as gallons per stop, gallons per mile, and miles per stop information as benchmarks, to measure delivery effectiveness and recommend corrective action as needed.
*Analyzes and evaluates multiple criteria, such as delivery areas, equipment, and personnel to measure effectiveness and to achieve divisional customer service targets.
*Oversees monitoring of product levels at customer locations to ensure that both customer and company’s delivery needs are met.
*Schedules daily routing of tickets to ensure efficient deliveries and responding to internal and external customer request.
*Ensures products routed for delivery are in compliance with company's product integrity policies
*Investigates with plant manager all work-related and/or customer injury/property damage accidents, identifying the conditions responsible and corrective action needed.
*Maintains regular attendance and follow designated safety practices
*Performs other duties not listed as required.
Communication
*Communicates in a professional and effective manner when dispatching loads to drivers.
*Collaborates with key stakeholders in operations, customer service, and sales to evaluate efficiency of delivery operations and recommend changes as needed.
*Provides timely response to customer service to resolve issues relative to area of responsibilities for internal and external customers.
*Communicates in a professional and effective manner with internal and external customers.
Customer Service
*Ensures correct orders are processed for dispatch and communicated to the Plant Manager for timely and accurate delivery to customers.
*Schedules and prioritize bulk loads to meet or exceed customers’ expectations.
*Ensures deliveries are of the highest quality and received in committed timeframe.
*Provides excellent customer service by striving to proactively support the Corporation and customers.
Developing Talent
*Attend training to further professional development and understanding of company goals and strategy.
*Provides guidance and oversight as needed to other areas of plant operations.
*Completes Safety training as required.
Technical Expertise
*Develops, maintains and strives to improve skills needed to dispatch loads in a timely and efficient manner to ensure no run-outs so as to meet or exceed customer expectations.
*Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with all DOT rules and regulations related to Hour of Service, vehicle weight restrictions, and any other regulations required.
*Maintain and enhance knowledge of company’s on board communications systems, dispatching modules, and routing software.
Maintain knowledge of company's quality and product integrity system to ensure that products are pulled, staged, and delivered to meet all specifications as represented by manufacturer.
*Adhere to all Wallis Companies safety policies and report all safety incidents to supervisor immediately.

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of package and bulk routing and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities also include planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing customer complaints, and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelors degree in logistics or related field.
Experience: *Over 3 years up to and including 5 years experience dispatching or related field.
Supervisory and prior logistics experience preferred
Language Skills: *Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
